04a.jpgI have been waiting to upload this write-up since a long time. Finally I can now have this on my blog…

I happen to meet the the founder and CEO of The Interactive Channel-Robert Chua. Initially I had no clue about him but his name did excite me….lol.

It was during his session on interactive tv  that I realised I was blessed to be at this venue/event. What a genius? I mean imagine while everybody is still trying to figure out the usage of interactive tv here is this man who has gone ahead and implemented this technology in Hongkong in 2004.

IT  channel is available online and through several pay platforms in Hong Kong. Most of the programming is panel, chat, interview or competition oriented. Viewers are able to participate with live programming via the web and mobile phone, their comments displayed in real time and reacted to by the hosts. In fact users are able to join the panels. Logging in via web cams and participating live on shows. Interviews are conducted with guests via web cams from throughout the world.

All he wants now is other counteries to buy his software. He said here in India KBC could use this interactive technology. Apart from that he said, ” Even news channels could use this in India. Our company would set up the software fre eof cost and then once the programmes go on air we would share the profit.”

When asked about how did he come across this technology he said, “I have many ideas and I tell young people in my office to implement it since I do not understand the technology that very well.” How humble could he be.

The Interactive Channel is exclusively about interactivity. There are no programs that don’t have audience participation at the core of the format. It seems to have built a loyal audience in Hong Kong.
